Change is in the air

The leaves are changing colours, there’s a nip in the air and it’s time to take steps to prepare for autumn. That might mean digging up the last of your root vegetables, having your furnace cleaned or stacking wood for the cozy nights ahead. Whatever your fall rituals around the house you should also be preparing your body for the change of seasons. Here are five ways to ease your transition into the cooler months.

Boost your immune system

A change in the weather and back to school seasons also mean the beginning of cold and flu season. Some natural immune boosters are: to drink plenty of fresh filtered water, eat plenty of seasonal vegetables, lysine, probiotics, Vitamins B, C and D, E3, reishi mushroom, zinc, propolis and Manuka honey.

Keeping moving

Most of us are pretty active in the summer months but don’t let the cooler weather stop you from exercising. Raking leaves, walking in nature and stacking that woodpile is a great way to keep fit and to boost your immune system.

Stay hydrated

As autumn sets in, our skin and hair often suffer from the harsh effects of the colder weather. Going from heated buildings into the cold and windy outdoors, it’s easy to see how our skin becomes drier and in need of some good hydration. Although moisturizers and conditioners can help, they can’t do the whole job. Make sure you are drinking plenty of clean, filtered water to keep you hydrated from the inside out.

Warm up your belly

Autumn is the perfect time to switch your diet from summer salads to steamed seasonal greens, root vegetables, whole grains, sweet curries and soups. Soups are a wonderful way to use up those last garden vegetables and to keep hydrated. Make sure you are using fresh, filtered water for your stock.

Nurture yourself

Autumn is a nice time to slow down and enjoy some internal reflection. Write in your journal, do some deep breathing or get out your watercolours. Allow this season to be a chance to nurture yourself by eating fresh seasonal foods and living in alignment with nature.

Drinking clean filtered water is important all year round but sometimes when the cooler weather comes we tend to forget to bring our water bottles and don’t drink as much water as we should. Drinking H2 infused alkaline water is also better absorbed by the body than regular tap water. We are the water experts – check us out online at: www.waterionizer.org
